Improv comedy is coming back to the Garden State, and in a big way. International improv legends Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood, stars of the recently revived Whose Line Is It Anyway, will be performing at the Tropicana in Atlantic City on August 16 and 17th in their show Two Man Group. For fans of the website, GardenStateComedy.com has started a contest to award the winner two FREE tickets to the performance of the winner’s choice.
Colin and Brad bring their quick wit and hilarious characters to life playing some of their more famous improv games such as Moving Bodies, Sound Effects and What’s My Line. The magic of improv is that all games are based on audience suggestions and audience involvement so no two shows are alike.
Improv is back on the forefront of comedy minds due to the success of the television show Whose Line Is It Anyway. The re-launch of Whose Line was CW’s most watched unscripted series premiere in six years. Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie star in, and Aisha Tyler hosts the update of the ABC improv show that ran eight seasons. Due to the great popularity so far, the show has already been picked up for a second season.
Improv comedy is already alive and strong within New Jersey already, as there are many local improv troupes based throughout the state who put on shows similar to the famous program. The Dumb Kids In The Back Comedy Troupe and the Second Place Champions are two of the more popular groups who are performing on a regular basis. Both troupes rely on crowd suggestions to entertain and pride themselves on putting together a great show.
